Learn Portuguese and Be Happy!
When we think of languages one by one, it seems like each one of them has its own color, its own vibe. Have you noticed that? It is not only the cultural background behind each language what makes us make associations the language with feelings, music, things, colors, etc. but also the sound of it per séi. According to many people Italian and French sound Romantic, French being a bit more fancy perhaps. British English conveys politeness, good manners and sophistication. German sounds bossy to most people. Why is it that Portuguese sounds so fun? Well, perhaps because everything that has to do with this language is about happiness.
If a Brazilian student takes English lessons in Belo Horizonte (or, as they would say Aulas de inglês em Belo Horizonte), we assume these lessons would be much more fun than if they were to take place at any European country. Brazil is a country to discover, for real. There is so much to see, so much that changes people’s lives, that you cannot afford never visiting this place. Besides, its vibe is good for the soul. Some people travel from Argentina to take English lessons in Brasilia (Aulas de inglês em Brasília) and get connected with students from Brazil who are also learning the language. These people are perhaps the happiest you will ever meet.
Knowledge of English and Portuguese while visiting Brazil will allow you to speak to other travelers who are interested in tongues. These kinds of experiences are always fulfilling and personality shapers. You simply don’t know yourself until you look around you, and in order to look around you, travelling is necessary. The same thing happens with languages. Since languages build our minds, and the world we construct is based on them, we need to become multilingual in order to expand our horizons, both mentally and physically. The uses and customs are not the same in two different places, and the roots of a habit we find weird (we tend to find weird everything that is not exactly the way we know it) can be more than interesting in the end, and something to learn from. Only then will we become happy, fulfilled human beings.
